Student and Parent Information

Updated September 28, 2026

As a teacher you can look up the students in your classes and their parents — contact details, family, emergency contacts, forms, and grades — right from the teacher panel. This information is read-only: if something needs correcting, ask a school admin to update the contact.

View a student

  1. Click Students in the sidebar. The page shows the students enrolled in your classes, with Active (classes in a current or upcoming term) and Inactive (only past terms) tabs. Use the Class filter to see one class.
  2. Click a student.

The Student details slide-over shows their photo, name, Family, Current grade level, birthday, age, and gender, plus four tabs:

  • Family: the student's Parents (name, relationship, phone, and email) and, below them, their Emergency contacts from the student's family record. Click a phone number or email address to call or write.
  • Student forms: form responses shared with teachers (for example health or permission forms). Click View on a response to read it.
  • Private notes: your own notes about the student (see below).
  • Grades: the student's letter grade in each of your classes.

You can open the same slide-over from a class: click the class, click the Students tab, then click View on a student. The roster is listed alphabetically by last name, and it has a Status filter (Only enrolled students, All students, Only dropped students).

Note: Only forms your school has shared with teachers appear on the Student forms tab.

View a parent

  1. Click Parents in the sidebar. Each parent's card says whose parent they are (for example "Parent of Leo and Mia", naming your students in that family). The Active and Inactive tabs are based on whether the family has a student in one of your classes this term or only in past terms.
  2. Click a parent.

The Parent details slide-over shows their photo, name, Family, email, phone, relationship, and their Children with grade level, birthday, and age.

Private student notes

Keep private notes on a student: observations, reminders, things to raise at a conference.

  1. Open a student's Student details slide-over.
  2. Click the Private notes tab.
  3. Click New note.
  4. Enter a Title and your Note.
  5. Click Save note.

Click a note to read it in full, edit it, or delete it.

Note: On the Private notes tab you only see notes you wrote, and other teachers can't see yours. Parents and students never see them. School admins can see all notes on a student's record in the admin panel.
