Instead of sending the same welcome email to every new student by hand, write it once on your class. TeachHero then emails it to the student's parents the moment the student enrolls.
Note: Classes are included in every plan. See Plans & Pricing.
Set up the welcome email
- Go to Classes and click the class.
- Click the Details tab and scroll to the Welcome email section.
- Turn on Send a welcome email when a student enrolls.
- Fill in the Subject and Message. Add a Signature if you like — it's optional.
- Click Save welcome email.
From now on, whenever a student enrolls in the class, every parent in their family who has an email address gets the welcome email. If no parent has an email address, it goes to the student instead.
Start from a template
- With the welcome email turned on, click Use a template in the Welcome email section.
- Choose a Template and click Use template.
- The subject, message, and signature fill in from the template. Make any changes, then click Save welcome email.
Only templates you created show up in the list. Create one from Communication → Emails → Email templates — see Email Templates. Your class keeps its own copy, so later changes to the template don't change the welcome email.
Turn the welcome email off
- Open the class and scroll to the Welcome email section on the Details tab.
- Turn off Send a welcome email when a student enrolls.
- Click Save welcome email.
Your subject and message are kept, so you can turn the email back on later.
Note: The welcome email only goes to students who enroll after you turn it on. It isn't sent to students already in the class.
