Your profile page (Personal profile in the admin panel, My profile in the teacher panel) holds your personal details for this school — your photo, bio, website, social links, contact information, and email notification preferences. It's separate from your school account and is unique to each school you belong to. Your photo, bio, website, and social links are the parts families and students see; the rest stays private to your school.
Open your personal profile
Admins: in the sidebar, click Settings, then the Personal profile tab. Teachers: click your avatar in the top-right corner, then My profile. The page is organized into three tabs: Profile, Contact, and Notifications. When you finish making changes on any tab, click Save changes.
Add your photo and name
On the Profile tab, the top section holds the basics other team members, teachers, and parents see when they interact with you:
- Photo — upload a headshot. It appears next to your name on class pages and your public profile.
- Full name and Email — how you're identified across TeachHero.
The Personal Information section below it (gender and birthday) is kept private and is only used by your school for reference.
Add your bio, website, and social links
The Profile Page section is what builds your public profile — the page families reach from the classes you teach and from any staff directory on your school website.
- Write a Bio in the editor. Use bold, italic, underline, links, and bullet lists to introduce yourself.
- Add a Website — paste the full address, including
https://. - Add social links for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, and Bluesky. Paste the full profile URL into each field — for example,
https://instagram.com/yourhandle. Leave any platform blank to hide it. - Click Save changes.
Your bio, website, and social links appear on your public profile page — linked from the detail page of every class you teach — and in any people directory your school lists you in. Only the social platforms you fill in show up, always in the order above.
Note: The social platforms here are the same ones your school can add to its website footer. Those footer links point to the school's profiles; the ones on this page are yours. See Portal Navigation for the school-wide footer links.
Add your contact details and email signature
On the Contact tab:
- Contact Information (mobile phone and address) is kept private and is used by your school to reach you.
- Email Signature is the default signature added to the bottom of emails you send through TeachHero. You can still change it per email when you need to.
Choose your email notifications
On the Notifications tab, turn individual emails on or off to control what TeachHero sends you when you're not online. The available options depend on your role — teachers see notifications about student work and new students, while admins see notifications about applications, payments, and weekly summaries.
Once you've saved, families will see your photo, bio, website, and social links on your profile; everything on the Contact and Notifications tabs stays with your school.
