Sending an Email

Updated September 28, 2026

Once your draft has recipients, a subject, and a message, the send options in the top-right corner of the editor become available.

Preview the email

Click Preview to see exactly what recipients will see — your message, signature, school logo, and any attachments button.

Send a test to yourself

  1. Open the draft and click More.
  2. Choose Send test.
  3. Click Send test. The test goes to your own email address only; no families get it.
  4. Check your inbox.

Send now

  1. Click Send now.
  2. The confirmation says who gets the email and how many, for example "It goes to 24 parents in Math 3." Check it, then click Send email.

Warning: Sending can't be undone. Once you confirm, the email is delivered to every recipient. Send a test first if you're unsure.

Each person gets one copy, even if they're in more than one of the groups you picked. The email shows Sending while it goes out, then Sent.

Note: Send now stays grayed out until the email has at least one recipient with an email address, a subject, and a message. See Troubleshooting Email if you can't send.

Send later

  1. Click More and choose Send later.
  2. Pick a future date and time in Send at. Times are in your school's timezone (set under Settings → School account).
  3. Check who gets it in the confirmation, then click Schedule email.

The email is sent automatically at the chosen time. Until it goes out, it appears under Scheduled, titled Scheduled email with the time it goes out, and you can still open it and make changes.

To stop a scheduled email, open it and click Cancel schedule, then Cancel schedule again to confirm. It goes back to your drafts, where you can edit it, schedule it again, or send it now. Once an email has started going out, the schedule can't be cancelled.

After sending

Open the email from the Sent list to see how it went:

  • Delivery totals at the top: Total Recipients, Delivered, Failed, and Pending.
  • A Recipients list showing the delivery status for every person.

If some recipients didn't get it, see Troubleshooting Email.
